Accessibility
This page describes the accessibility standards CJN Consulting follows and the steps taken to ensure this website is usable by everyone.
Our Commitment
CJN Consulting Inc. is committed to making this website accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. Many of the business owners I work with are in the 40–60+ age range — accessibility is not an afterthought, it is a baseline expectation for the people this site serves.
This site is built against WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines, the internationally recognised benchmark for web accessibility.
What We've Done
The following measures have been taken to ensure accessibility across this website:
Colour and Contrast
All body text meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1. Accent colours are used only at sizes that meet the 3:1 large-text threshold or for decorative purposes where colour is not the sole means of conveying information.
Keyboard Navigation
Every page on this site can be navigated entirely by keyboard. All interactive elements — links, buttons, and form fields — are reachable via the Tab key in a logical order. A "Skip to main content" link is provided as the first focusable element on every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass the navigation and go directly to the page content.
Semantic Structure
Pages are built with semantic HTML — proper heading hierarchy (H1 through H3, in order), landmark elements (header, nav, main, footer), and labelled regions — so screen readers and assistive technologies can interpret page structure accurately.
Forms
The contact form uses visible labels associated with each input field, clear required-field indicators, and specific error messages that identify what needs to be corrected. The form is fully operable by keyboard alone.
Images
All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so that screen readers skip them. No essential information is conveyed through images alone.
Text and Readability
All text is live HTML — nothing is embedded in images. Content remains readable and functional at 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling or content loss. Line lengths are kept within a comfortable reading width.
Motion and Animation
This site respects the "Reduce Motion" setting in your operating system. If you have reduced motion enabled, any animations or transitions are minimised or removed entirely. There is no auto-playing video, audio, or flashing content anywhere on the site.
Touch Targets
On mobile devices, primary navigation and form controls are sized for comfortable touch interaction and meet the WCAG 2.2 AA target-size guidance.
Standards We Follow
Known Limitations
We continuously work to improve the accessibility of this site. If you encounter any content or functionality that does not meet the standards described above, please let us know — we treat accessibility issues as a priority.
Feedback
If you experience any difficulty accessing content on this website, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve accessibility, please reach out through the contact form or email Craig directly. Your feedback helps us improve.
Testing
This site is tested for accessibility using a combination of automated tools (axe DevTools, WAVE, Lighthouse) and manual testing including full keyboard navigation, screen reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA), 200% browser zoom, and mobile assistive technology testing. These checks are run before every site update.
